Develop functionality to allow a user to define the height of a carousel. Most likely solution would be to provide a pre defined set of sizes for editors to choose from.

AS AN EDITOR I want the text box on the carousel functionality to be at a fixed height SO THAT all of the slides are at the same height, and not jarring the user.

We think this needs further clarification. The Oversight Committee were not keen on changing the height of the Carousel as this would impact on consistency of look and feel. However, we were then able to find out more about the original request which turns out to be slightly different:

The issue is more around the height of the text box, rather than the slider itself. So if there is less text, the slider changes height which looks a bit weird when its scrolling through. So could the height of the slider be fixed, rather than it adjusting to the content within each slide?? It may also be useful to have the text overlaying the image, rather than under the image in a coloured box (though this might be something to consider in the design refresh).

The simple way to get around this is to always make sure you have the same amount of text in each slider, but somethings that’s not always possible.

I think the height of the slider should be fixed.
