We have now deployed the new media widget to all Haiku sites. The media widget is a new way of managing the images that you use within items of content for the lead media.

As this functionality is extremely significant, we have initially deployed it to four content types:

  • Course

  • Division page

  • Founder page

  • Web page

Over the course of the next month, we will add this functionality to more content types, until they are all using the new media widget.

The reason for deploying to certain content types in a staged approach is two fold.
  1. When releasing this functionality, we have to run migrations on each website to move the current images and videos into the new media widget. This takes a long time, and we want to make sure that we are keeping the sites running at their optimum speed when a user is visiting the site.
  2. We have spent a long time testing this functionality, but as we roll this out site wide, we want to ensure that it is as stable as possible.

We hope that you enjoy using the new functionality.
