Although we think Carousels are a great idea on Research Group pages because they often have many and very interesting images. We did wonder though whether endless Carousels on numerous pages of a website might start to look a bit strange. We wonder there's actually a distinction between a carousel of slides which perhaps point to other parts of the site and a rotating slideshow or gallery of images. Which do we thing the Research Groups actually need and what would be appropriate?

The particular group who asked for this want a way of showing the variety of techniques and types of work they do in their group. Essentially they want a gallery of images rather than using the carousel to direct people to other parts of the site.

I think that rather than try and solutionise that adding carousels to research groups is what is required, it would be good for us to understand what you are actually trying to achieve with the content and images then we can review some different options. Carousels do not produce a good user experience, and 60% of your visitors will not scroll through these images, we should ideally be looking to reduce the use of them across the site not increase them. I think that there is a better way for us to incorporate the content. Please can you send through some examples of the type of thing that you would be looking to display?
