Allow a user to highlight an area of text, e.g. a quote, which pops up a social sharing option containing the highlighted text, a link to the page, and different social sharing options (e.g. twitter, facebook, etc). This will enable more flexibility and an easier way, for users to share content.

What are you trying to do that our product is not able to support?

Allow a user to highlight an area of text, e.g. a quote, which pops up a social sharing option containing the highlighted text, a link to the page, and different social sharing options (e.g. twitter, facebook, etc)

What is the reason that you need to be able to do this?

Lowers the bar for a user to share a snippet of a page they found interesting, boosting our potential social reach. Automatically adds relevant details.

What is the impact of you not being able to do this?

Sum-optimal social reach.

We are postponing this feature for the time being, as it needs a great deal more investigation and discussion around the feature request. The usability of this needs to be clearly understood, and we need to work through this.
